About the Teacher
Mario Donadio is a harpsichord builder and restorer dedicated to preserving and promoting the tradition of early music in Colombia and Latin America. His work combines the historical craftsmanship of the instrument with a deep technical understanding of sound and musical mechanics.
His Education
He trained in harpsichord making at Hubbard Harpsichords in Boston (United States), one of the world’s most influential workshops in the modern construction of historical instruments. There, he learned directly from master builders the traditional techniques that have kept the harpsichord tradition alive in contemporary performance
The Legacy of Early Music
Over the years, Mario has built more than twenty handcrafted harpsichords, instruments that are now in the hands of professional musicians, early music performers, and enthusiasts of the instrument. Each harpsichord is conceived as a unique piece, carefully crafted from select materials, with the option to customize details such as paintwork, decorations, and finishes.
In addition to his work as a builder, Mario has extensive experience as a professional piano tuner and technician, which has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the acoustic behavior of keyboard instruments. This knowledge is reflected in the stability, precision, and sound quality of the harpsichords he builds.

From his workshop in Colombia, Mario Donadio continues to build and restore harpsichords for musicians, cultural institutions, and performance venues in Latin America and around the world, with a clear mission:
